How to reach Naukuchiatal?

There are three ways to reach Naukuchiatal: by road, train or flight. Reach Nainital or Haldwani by road and then take a private taxi to Naukuchiatal. 

The nearest railway station to Naukuchiatal is Kathgodam. After deboarding at Kathgodam, take a taxi to Naukuchiatal.

Pant Nagar airport is closest to Naukuchiatal (~75 kms). Either take a direct taxi from the airport to Naukuchiatal or take a bus to Nainital and then follow the route mentioned above.

As the name suggests, one of the biggest attractions of this vacation spot is the lake. This lake has nine corners and hence, the name: Naukuchiatal. Legend has it that it was after a long worship session of Lord Brahma that this lake came into existence. It is also believed that someone who succeeds in seeing all 9 corners of the lake at the same time, while standing on the ground, attains Nirvana.
